The Best American Cities to Visit for your Mini-Break

When it comes to planning a holiday, we all usually focus on going somewhere hot with plenty of bars and beaches.  Let’s face it, once you have been on a few beach holidays, they start to lose their appeal. Even if the countries that you are going to are different, they all start to blur into one.

A kind of holiday that is extremely underrated is a city trip. A city trip means that you don’t have to venture out of America, which means that you can save a considerable amount of money.  People forget just how vast America really is and there are a variety of different climates to choose from depending on where you look, so you are bound to find a location that fits what you are looking for in a holiday.

Las Vegas

No matter where you are from, we have all dreamed of one day traveling to Las Vegas and trying our luck in the casinos. Absolutely anything can happen in Vegas, which makes it all the more exciting. In Vegas, drinks are always flowing and the sun is always shining, so what’s not to love? If you are someone that isn’t too interested in gambling, then worry not. Las Vegas is also the center of live entertainment and you can expect to see singers such as Celine Dion and Britney Spears all year around.  Vegas is also well known for its quality magic acts, so all of your entertainment needs are catered for. All that we ask if you do choose to go to Vegas is that you do not try and replicate the scenes shown in The Hangover.

Miami

If you are looking for some sun and boujee living, then you will want to visit Miami. Miami is extremely diverse and so you are bound to find something to do while you are there. If you like a long walk on the beach, then Miami will be perfect for you as it is well known for its white sands and blue waters. Miami also has a big water sports culture, so if you have ever wanted to see how you would handle the waves, then Miami would be the best place to try it out.  One of the main reasons that people travel to Miami is for the nightlife, it is said that you will never experience a night out like Miami, so why not try it yourself?

New York

New York is arguably the most famous city in America and it is recommended that you visit at least once in your lifetime. If you love musical theatre and brilliant food, then New York is where you need to go. There are countless famous restaurants and bakeries, all of which are open until the early hours. All of the most famous plays and musicals are performed in New York and though you will not be able to catch a viewing of Cats, you will find a musical that meets your taste.

Stamford

If you are looking for a quieter and more scenic break, then we recommend Stamford. Stamford is a quaint city that has a lively college culture. In Stamford, you can go for long walks through the heart of the city and then finish your evening in one of the many college bars that are open to the public.  Though things are usually quite tame in Stamford, it can get pretty crazy during football season. All you need to do is ask a Darien roofing contractor and you will learn just how messy the students can get. Last year one of the historic college buildings lost half a roof.

The Best Mountain Holidays to Consider

The most popular summer holidays are of course beach holidays, people love to lounge around by the sea and drink cocktails on the beach. If this isn’t your cup of tea and you prefer a more active holiday, then a mountain holiday filled with hikes through beautiful scenery could be the perfect holiday for you. We’ve rounded up some of the nicest destinations for a mountain holiday that you could consider for your summer trip this year.

Everest Base Camp

We’re starting this list with the most difficult mountain holiday in the world. Everest base camp is not for the weak, it would require lots of training and if you’re unprepared can be quite dangerous. It’s a 10-day trek and can cost upwards of $3,000, you’ll also have to splash out on equipment, protecting your feet is vital so make sure you have some high-quality boots, if you have a comfortable pair of boots with a steel toe for work then you can use these and save some cash.

Lake District

The UK doesn’t have any high mountains like Everest but what the Lake District lacks in height it makes up in the scenery. This is a much more family-suited holiday and doesn’t require intense training like Everest. It has some of the most beautiful hiking trails and there are plenty of fun water sports you can take part in there, including kayaking and abseiling. This is great for families as there are outdoor specialists who can take the kids off on a fun adventure for the day and you can take a nice hike and get some peace and quiet.

Mont Blanc

Mont Blanc is located in France, there are tours available to Mont Blanc by hiking experts that sort everything out for you from transfers to luggage. They also take you on a guided tour of the foothills of the highest peak in all of Western Europe and provide you with accommodation throughout. The trek is 60 miles long and they offer tours of different durations depending on how difficult you want it to be. This is another great option for a family holiday as it’s still an adventure holiday but child-friendly, as long as they are over the age of 7. The hike involved 3-6 hours of walking per day so it shouldn’t be too difficult for the kids to complete.

Planning a Family Holiday: Everything You Need to Consider

Family holidays are often an enjoyable and excitable time for all involved. It brings the opportunity for a family to grow closer and to connect, this time well spent can be extremely rewarding for a family. There are many types of holiday that can be suitable for a family, depending on the age range throughout the family. Family holidays can be one of the most rewarding times for a family, a certain holiday may even be remembered and enjoyed years after the holiday has passed. Holidays are especially important for bonding as a family and taking the time to relax in each other’s company. There are many kinds of holidays suited to families, however, there are many things that need to be considered before setting off on your holiday. You need to consider a holiday that will be beneficial for each member rather than a holiday that suits a certain age group.

A holiday that suits everyone

Many families enjoy a quick getaway holiday in the sun, where children can enjoy different social activities such as kids’ clubs, which cater to entertaining your children while allowing the adults to partake in their own activities. These clubs allow the children to engage in activities with other children and make friends, as well as doing physical activities. These can include swimming, playing, and running. Many kid’s clubs also provide lunch, but this may be carefully considered if a child has allergies that the club is not aware of. While the children are getting necessary physical contact, adults may be able to take some time off from their duties and be rewarded with a spa day, dine at a restaurant, or perhaps even a well-needed sleep.

Finding your holiday

It is important to be wary of scam sites when looking for a holiday abroad. If you are using the internet to book your holiday, you must be careful not to get scammed through a fake website. Scammers can access your account and this will result in losing a large portion of your money to such scammers. You must check that the website is verified, or book through a common flight company you are familiar with. There is also the option to go into a travel agent store, where you can speak with someone directly in order to book your holiday. This may be the safest option if you are unfamiliar with online sites or wish to play it safe.

Camping holiday

Camping holidays always prove quite popular. If your family has a love of the outdoors; packing up and heading into a camping site may be enjoyable. There are very few restrictions on camping, and this allows for a lot of physical activity. Instead of children being idle in a hotel, where they can gain experience by helping to build tents and fires and gathering items that may be required for barbeques. This will keep the children busy as well as giving them a sense of importance by doing tasks. In order to keep the younger children entertained, you may want to consider bringing some toys for them to play with. Toys such as rc helicopters are a lot of fun for kids. You can also partake in family activities such as hiking, water activities, scavenger hunts, and more. Camping holidays seem to be the best for bonding with your family, as time away from electronics such as televisions, phones, and tablets allows for conversation and family activities.

What to consider

If you decide on the best route to take regarding your holiday, you must be aware that planning in advance is necessary. In order to prepare for your holiday, you must compose a list of everything that is needed. This may require passports, visas, food, clothes, and hygiene products. Depending on where you are going for your holiday and the length of time you are gone, you may need to consider boarding kennels or hire a person to look after any animals you may have. Additionally, you may need to change your currency before you leave if you decide to travel to a different country. You may need to consult doctors or medical physicians if you or a family member has a condition that may prevent you from traveling a certain length of time.

Thermals are a must-have for any traveling experience. As I have previously stated, it can get pretty cold when you’re venturing to other countries.
